The Safeguarding of Children and Young People Level 1 online course is designed for entry level staff, you would need no prior knowledge of safeguarding children and young people to complete this course. Some topics covered in the level 1 course are what is safeguarding, why is safeguarding so important, how to recognise the signs of abuse and how to report safeguarding concerns.
The Safeguarding of Children and Young People Level 2 online course is designed for staff who have additional responsibilities in responding to safeguarding matters. It is assumed that staff completing level 2 training, may be a more experienced member of a team who has already completed the introductory level 1 training course. The Safeguarding of Children Level 2 online course covers all of the topics the Safeguarding of Children Level 1 does as well as the responsibilities of different safeguarding roles how to communicate effectively and how to handle safeguarding incidents and concerns.
