Q: Who needs Food Hygiene Level 2?

Anyone that prepares, cooks or handles food needs a Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety training course, including if your employees work in: restaurants, pubs, hotels food and drink manufacturers care homes supermarkets retail environments e.g. delis, bakeries, coffee shops that sell food hospitals schools and nurseries prisons If you are a manager of any of the above, our Level 3 Award in Food Safety is a better course for you.

Q: How long does a Food Safety Level 2 Certificate Last?

A Level 2 Food Safety Certificate doesn't have an expiry date, but it is recommended by Environmental Health Officers that your food hygiene refresher training is completed regularly. You may be thinking, why do I need to renew my certificate if it doesn't expire? For the sake of your business, could you be comfortable saying that your staff have up-to-date food safety knowledge after three or five years? If there's a change in food hygiene practices and law, it's best, and safer, to ensure your staff know it. It's even more important when it comes to the health and safety of your consumers.
