About this course
This eLearning course aims to introduce you to the topic of end of life care.
It begins by explaining the legal requirements and the policy guidance related to end of life care. It then describes factors affecting end of life care including the emotional and psychological processes people experience and how religion and spirituality may influence end of life care. You will then learn about advance care planning and the ethical issues that may arise in relation to this. The course then describes ways of supporting the individual and their loved ones through the process of end of life care and explains the signs that may indicate an individual is nearing the end of their life. You will also learn about sensitive issues and conflicts that can occur and how to deal with them appropriately. The course gives information about services available to support end of life care and actions to take following the death of an individual.
