The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations Act 1998 (PUWER) is the legislation that covers the health and safety aspect of using equipment such as abrasive wheels.

In the interest of health and safety, PUWER requires anyone using, managing or supervising abrasive wheels to be adequately trained.
