The New Care Certificate From Just £15 or Free with Careskills Unlimited

The Care Certificate is the start of the career journey for your staff and an important element of the training and education that will make them ‘Ready to Practice’ in their workplace.

This course is fully compliant with the Care Certificate standards written by Skills for Care and Skills for Health and applies across all health and social care. It equips learners with the fundamental skills needed to provide quality care and gives them a basis from which they can further develop their knowledge and skills as their career progresses.

Knowledge and learning gained can link to Level 2 Diploma in care.

Wrapped up in 1 Course instead of 15 & 1 Portfolio instead of 15 individual workbooks, the Careskills Academy Care Certificate is written in a clear and simplistic way to get the best out of your new recruits right from the beginning.

The Care Certificate

The Care Certificate is a joint initiative of Health Education England, Skills for Care and Skills for Health. It was created in response to the 2013 publication of the Cavendish Review, which examined the training and support of healthcare assistants.

The Care Certificate establishes a set of 15 standards intended to underpin the activities of health and social care professionals as they go about their daily working life. It was determined that, because many health and care workers are unregulated, establishing this agreed set of standards would go a long way toward establishing public confidence in the ability of these workers to provide high-quality care that was both safe and compassionate.

Who Needs a Care Certificate?

The Care Certificate is not mandatory in a statutory sense, but the expectation is that all health and care workers will obtain one. In other words, not having one will greatly reduce the chance of obtaining work in the health and care sector in the UK. In addition, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) expects all care providers to adhere to the 15 standards established for the Care Certificate programme if they:

  • Are new to the health and care sector.
  • Are employed as a social care worker.
  • Provide direct care in a nursing home, residential home, or hospice.
  • Are a home care worker.

Keep in mind that the Care Certificate is designed to be completely portable. Therefore, if you change jobs after receiving your Care Certificate there is no need to be retested before you can assume your duties with the new employer.

The Care Certificate Review

The Care Certificate is not a static object, but a dynamic set of principles that respond to ongoing changes and developments in the health and social care landscape. Regular reviews of The Care Certificate programme ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness.
